angled bullet tips

Post by bryantb »

Hi Chaps

Received some heads for my 3006. 180gr.

The tip worries me, note the angled tip.

Will this make a difference ? Is it worth wasting powder ?

Thanks

Funny enough the base of the bullet is generally regarded as the steering wheel and damage to the meplat/tip of the bullet doesn't really effect it as much as damage to the tail end. Only way to know is to shoot them, im sure they will at least make it to the target but im sure it will affect the bullet in some way or another. Shoot a couple and see if they are acceptable for what ever you want to use them for

This ELD still made it to its destination 700m away with that damage

Load this six for target practice. If they do well in practice the rest will do well out hunting.

Laai hulle. Tot so 300m behoort akkuraatheid aanvaarbaar te wees

I have done tests in the early 2000's with such bullets. We damaged a number of bullets' tips and loaded them. Out to about 250m they were more than accurate enough for taking springbuck.

Dit lyk soos APM punte daai. ek het ook van hulle bestel en soorteglyk ontvang. was ook bang hulle gaan nie akkuraat wees nie. Paar toetse tot op 200m was heel aanvaarbaar.
