Raad met potensiele lading asb

Hi all,
I have a potential load for a 338 win mag but I would like advice before I go out and buy what I need.

The load as worked out on quickload for my rifle with 270gr ELD X and H4831 has a potential speed of 2650fps at a node with a pressure of 60800 psi acoording to quickload.

My question is if you would consider this safe. Max saami pressure for this cartridge is 64000 psi, accorsing to ql max pressure is about 63000 psi. This is on a trued howa action and the H4831 is apparently very temp stable.

Please give your opinions. This is of course at this stage predicted data by ql but I want your input first before I spend the money to buy the bullet heads etc.

I used QL to get an idea of other propellants that might be suitable. I took a guess and used a 24 inch barrel. I think the propellant you are referring to is IMR4831 that gives the figures more or less as you have them. I get to a node at a speed of 2530fps. VV N550 as well as LovexS070 give similar speeds and pressures. Norma MRP might also be the other option and the star for the 338WM.

MRP has lower pressure and higher speed.

Maybe if you supply true dimensions of the rifle we can give better advice.

Ek moet nog toetsladings gaan skiet maar wil net weet of die teoretiese lading van 2650fps op node by 60800psi aanvaarbaar en veilig is?

Dit kan wees dat die kombinasie veilig kan wees, maar ek soek altyd 'n node met 'n buffer van so 4/5000 psi onder maks. Kyk na MRP en jy sal sien wat ek bedoel. Druk 53K psi en nodespoed van 2630vps. Klink soos 'n wenner.

Dit is een om te probeer. Ek het net nog nie goeie resultate met ander hie energie kruite in die geweer gehad m.b.t. To akkuraatheid nie, N560. Die ander ding wat my pla is MRP se temp sensitiwiteit? Enige iemand n mening hieroor!

As jy slim te werk gaan behoort temp jou nie te pla nie. Wanneer jy 'n lading kry, toets die nodeband se wydte. In die winter laai jy met die lading waar die nodeband onder begin (laagste lading en spoed dus). Soos dit warmer word en spoed toeneem behoort dit nog binne die nodeband te bly. Dit is ook wys om jou patrone so te hanteer dat hulle nie in die son lê nie en dat die temp naastenby dieselfde is vir elke skoot.
