Het vandag my 300WSM uitgehaal om reg te kry vir jag, moet nou oorgaan na lot89 s365 My vorige lading 208GR AMAX met lot 81 was 59.5 gr wat half moa en 2740fps opgelewer het

I would say that you are exactly right if your burn rate stays as it is now.
But it wont as you are only at 49000 psi at the moment.
Load 61.5 grain and see where you at.
Target MV is 2702 fps for the node

So wat you telling me is that my previous load was over pressure and not on a node !

It was very close to Node 5 but pressure was approx 64000 psi
CIP Max is 63817 psi
Not too far over by your standards

This is what I am trying to get my head around , the slower the burn rate the higher the node speed .

So with the faster burning powder I was able to reach the node at maksimum pressure and with the slower burn rate this node is a bridge to far and wil have to settle for the slower node which is now faster than it would have been with the faster burning powder .
I wonder whether n560 would solve this conundrum

With your current batch you could potentially reach Node 5 at 2809 fps and 63000 psi but we will have to assess what your burn rate is going to do as you reach the upper pressure levels

Its technical but it all revolves around the optimal barrel time.

I know its technical , but I also know the less time the bullet spends in the barrel the better the outcome on the intended target

Viht N560 could potentially put you on the node at 2848 fps and 61200 psi but once again we can only see if this is possible once a burn rate has been established at the higher pressure levels.
This will be a compresssed load however.

Just shot 3 shots 64gr s365 -2808fps . No pressure signs I think I must keep this batch exclusively for the WSM .The burn rate did not increase like it most probably would have done with an overbore cartridge.

Hoe kry jy so hoe node met 365 sonder druk? Ek gooi 385 vir net so oor 2700fps. Opas vir daai eldm op die lyf gooi. Ek het n koedoe op 225m ver agter blad geskiet net rib gebreek maar die hele sy was n bloed gemors!

Ek skiet ook die 208 EldM uit my 300WM teen 2870ftps en het laasjaar n paar koedoes op 80-250m geskiet en het nie so baie bloed skade gehaad met die blad skote nie, maar moet se as hy been tref dan breek hy kwaai op.

Ek weet nie QL voorspel die nommers ek gooi net die kruit.Die lading is tien teen een op of net oor maximum druk so moet hom nie net so try nie .

Dale are you sure you are not making a parallax error when reading the pressure gauge on your computer .The target ,bolt lift,primers and cases are telling me a different story, but in the interest of safety I guess it is back to the drawing board.

Quite sure.
Primers are a very poor indicators of pressure.
If your cartridge is headspaced correctly then the primers will not necessarily be flattened.
Your grouping will still be good as you are still in the node band.

Have you considered maybe using the 200 grain ELD-X
You could potentially shoot those at +-2800 fps within safe pressure.
Will also be a better choice for hunting.
