Jackal coursing?

Hi guys is the above mentioned method of hunting jackals legal? If so does anyone on this forum have experience in the method? Thanks in advance.

What is "Coursing"?

Coursing = The sport of hunting game animals such as hares with greyhounds using sight rather than scent.

tripodmvr sums it up perfectly. Basicly you are using dogs like Greyhounds, Salukis and lurchers which are crosses between a sighthound such as a Greyhound and a non- sighthound like a collie or terrier. They hunt the qurray in this case jackal by running it down and then catching and killing it.

I am not going to take credit for that expalbnation. Google is my friend. The sight and pursuit is the main elements that will apply for an eagle or largeraptor. There is this hunting sport in Khazakstan, if I am not mistaken, where wolves are hunted with eagles.

You are not mistaken. They do still do that and from what I've seen it is really exciting.

Each province has its own laws. According to the Free State's one can hunt on your own property with one's own dogs. But if you want to hunt jackal for money on somebody elses property you (the handler) and your dogs must be accredited by a nature conservationist. And believe me they will check you up.

I am unfortunately not aware what the legislation for other povinces are.
