Hi Gents.
What are your thoughts on the sig P229 series. i am looking at a scorpion model with cerakote and SRT trigger no safety but has a decocker etc. American reviews say it a decent gun but once its landed here its over R30k. Looking to use it as a carry gun. it is lighter and more compact than my current carry gun and i am really enjoying EDC and want to get the right thing. They are very pricey in terms of handguns. Are they worth the extra cash as opposed to cz, glock, etc.
any advise would be great
Regards eric

I would opt for a G19. Cheaper, easy to maintain, available and efficient.

Rather spend R10k on pistol, R5k on decent holster/s, sights, mags, WML and R15k on ammo and training for EDC.
I use a P229 when deployed. Nice gun but no better than a G19, P07, SD9. I've seen guys with "crappy" pistols I will much rather have next to me in a gun fight than some with very expensive pistols that cant hit the side of a bus under stress.
