4. Timbavati Nature Courses – Members Exclusive!
Summary info –

Course Cost: R6735.- per person ALL Inclusive, except Alcohol & tips.
Course duration: all courses will commence on a Wednesday and end on a Sunday (4 nights) - Group to arrive at midday (13h00 to 14h00) on the Wednesday and depart after brunch (09h00 to 10h00) on the Sunday. Rate includes: Course facilitation and training, use of BMC facilities, staff and venue, soft / cool drinks, tea and coffee, 3 meals a day, rusks and fruit. Course Name: Survival & Nature –
Two course dates: 29 January to 2 February AND 22-26 October

Course Content
- track the big 5 on foot by following the animal's track and sign
- identify & interpret animal track and sign
- bushcraft and survival principles and techniques
- unarmed combat training
- compass and map navigation
- natural navigation pointers
- practical use of GPS in the field

- compass

- notebook and pen

Course Name: Combat Man Tracking –
Two Course dates: 2 April to 6 April AND 26 November to 30 November

Course Content
- principles of man tracking
- tactical team tracking formations
- following human tracks individually and in teams
- human trail interpretation
- human scene interpretation
- animal trailing
- the importance of animal tracks to age human spoor

For assessments and SASSETA and SAWC (Southern African Wildlife College) certification add an extra 3 nights to course duration. Quote available on request.

25 June to 29 June

Course Content
- fundamentals of pistolcraft
- combat pistol shooting on static and moving targets
- tracking Africa's big 5 on foot
- firearm retentions and disarms

- holster
- belt
- eye protection
- ear protection
- pistol (semi-auto); ensure pistol tested, clean and in safe working order
- 2 mags
- 200 rounds of ammo; ensure ammo safe and user friendly

Course Name: Stopping the Charge (Big Bore) –
30 July to 3 August

Course Content
- fundamentals of big bore rifle training to stop DG (dangerous game) charge at close quarters
- simulated charges
- effective tactics when dealing with a charge of dangerous game
- track Africa's big 5 on foot
- informative walks in the Savanna

Course specific kit (see std kit list in Fact sheet which will be supplied to members who book)
- ear protection
- eye protection
- large bore bolt action rifle (.375 cal and up) - no scope (open sights); ensure rifle tested, clean and in safe working order
100 rounds of ammo; ensure ammo safe and user friendly.
