PMP CEO to hand over the reigns after 17 years

Thursday, 10 January: Denel Group CEO, Mr Riaz Saloojee announced today the retirement of Mr Carel Wolhuter as CEO of PMP, a division of Denel and the appointment of Mr Phaladi Petje as the new CEO. Mr Petje will assume leadership of PMP from 1 May 2013.

Mr Wolhuter has been at the helm of PMP as CEO for the past 17 years. He has built sound relationships with numerous local and international clients and stakeholders, and made an invaluable contribution to PMP’s success. His achievements include leading a turnaround strategy and returning the PMP business from a loss of R80m in 2005 to the current profit of about R15m.

Mr Wolhuter will still be involved with PMP in a mentorship capacity and overseeing specific projects before finally retiring on 31 October 2013. One of the projects he will be involved in is to finalise the celebrations of PMP’s 75th anniversary in October 2013. PMP is the oldest business division within the Denel Group, dating back to 1938.

Mr Petje’s appointment as CEO comes after 11 years in the Denel Group of which 8 years as Executive Manager Marketing at PMP and as Deputy CEO since 1 July 2012. He has strong leadership abilities, a sound knowledge of the Denel Group and of PMP’s operations and significant business issues. He understands the local and international Defence environment and has built strong relationships with the customers. Mr Petje has made valuable contribution to business growth in terms of sales and the entitiy’s turnaround to profitability. His experience in the defence environment covers land systems and related ammunition business.

Mr Petje will continue to ensure business growth, and to reinforce PMP’s position as a reliable supplier of world class military and commercial ammunition products and components. He will be ably supported in his new role by his Executive team.

Mr Saloojee expressed his appreciation for the contribution that Mr Wolhuter made over many years as an Executive Manager in the Denel Group and wished him well on the next phase of his life. He also congratulated Mr Petje on his appointment as the new CEO of PMP. The appointment is in line with Denel’s succession strategy and overall business vision and strategy of Denel which is to grow revenue, improve customer relationships, increase productivity, efficiency and profitability and enhance leadership and transformation.

Sien, julle was almal die hele tyd verkeerd, dis nie "Piet Maak Petrone" nie dis "Petje maak Petrone"....

Ja nee, daar gaan die kommersiële besigheid. Groepering op paier bokke gaan nou soos een haelgeweer skoot lyk.

Baie dankie vir die inligting julle, ek sal dan maar net moet n boksie van elk gaan koop en gaan toets :-)

Want tot dusver het ek nog net met die gewone PMP geskiet en hulle het nog sover geen probleme gegee nie, maar van wat ek verstaan is hulle nie die beste om mee te jag nie weens vleis verlies.

Ek wil ook by julle hoor, ek het op n stadium by Safari en Outdoor PMP 143gr .308 patrone gekoop teen R120 n pakkie, maar lyk my die voorraad is nou heeltemal klaar en almal se dis militere ammunisie en is vreeslik skaars, weet enige iemand waar ek dalk nog van hulle kan kry?

Nie net vleisverlies nie, MEER BELANGRIK is die doodmaakvermoee. Onthou ons praat van n dier se lewe ook.... Hulle maak dood, ek stem, maar ek weet nie of ek my geld op n 100%  sukses ratio sal plaas nie.....

Ek sal bietjie ook deur die forum soek om te kyk na ander posts waar ek meer inligting kan kry, maar ek sal dit waardeer as julle dalk bietjie pointers kan gee, ek sal verseker na daai Barnes kyk.

Dit het redelik akkuraat geskiet uit my Howa en het dood gemaak, meer akkuraat as die PMP (180gr) wat ek ook getoets het.

Ek het laas jaar so R240/20 betaal.

Heinrich maat help my asb waar bekom n man proam's vir die 303 n vriend van my sal graag proams vir my 303 wil kry.

Maar wat my 243 betref nooit sal ek proam in die roer weer gebruik nie. Het meer as as een koel gekry watse punt ek met die hand kan uittrek en dan ook doppe watse nekke krake inhet.

So ver ek weet maak PMP nie pro ams vir die 303 net twee sp punte en 'n solid!
