Hi guys,
Has anyone fished at Bronkhorstspruit Dam recently? I'm thinking of taking the kids there to fish for carp mainly but also a bit for bass.
How is the fishing there at the moment?
Nature Reserve vs Bajadam?
Any tips on bait?
Any other tips?
Do you need a fishing license?
I would appreciate any advice. Thanks guys.

Hi Dimitri. Goeie vriend van my bly reg teen die water. Hy sê Saterdag het iemand daar by hom die grootste bass gevang wat hy nog in jare by Bronkies gesien het. Water is ook nog redelik skoon die tyd van die jaar.

Re: Bronkhorstspruit Dam
So the fishing trip was postponed to this past weekend. Accuweather said there was a 40% chance of rain at Bronkhorstspruit but only 1% at Vaaldam so we went to Boschkop on the Vaal Dam.
The fish were biting and the kids caught 28 fish in total. 1 x barbel, 1 x grass carp and the rest were a mix of carp, yellowfish and mudfish. The kids loved it. All fish were small but the guy next to us, who was fishing deeper, caught a few fish that looked to be around 2-3kg.

Friend of mine was also at Vaaldam over the weekend. On arrival he caught a 2,5 kg barbel. Thereafter his report just mentioned 2x babbelas and sunstroke - zilch fish. Your kids were lucky.

My lekkerste vakansies ooit by daai dam gehad. In die 80's was dit mos Bronhorst-Baai en Bonamanzi, Ge-waterski en gedans in die saal.
