308 with Norma 202

Evening gents I need a bit of help with new load since the 335 is finished!
I want to try the Norma 202 powder with my usual 165gr Nosler Ballistic Tips/ accubond bullets if anyone is willing to help?

Barrel length: 566mm
Max tpl ogive: 59.4
Tpl: 59.0
Lapua brass volume: 55.6
Nosler Ballistic Tips 165gr
Primers: cci 200
With 335 lot 713/b/15 I had an avg velocity of 2644 which gave great grouping at 100m with 41.5 gr powder

Can anyone please advise on a load with the Norma 202

We would need TPL form base to tip of bullet as that is the way QL is programmed.

Norma give a charge of 42.2gr 202 as max. I would load 3 cartridges with 41gr and get speed. This would enable QL to calibrate the loads and give a more accurate prediction for a node which is also close to 2640fps. Just advise as to what chrony was used and place it at 5m from muzzle if it is an optical one.

Ok shot my 1st batches with Norma 202 this morning my data is as follows:
Sako 308 win
Twist 1:11
Lapua brass 55.62 volume
Barrel length 566mm
Max tpl 74.4mm
Tpl ogive of loads 58.12
Nosler ballistic tip 165gr
Chrony speeds at 5m
41gr = 2435 avg
41.5 = 2518 avg
42gr = 2560 avg
The 42gr did better!
Would u be so kind and help me with a suggested load and data I think I’m pretty close with 42gr? Thanks appreciate it!

What is your loaded TPL ?
You mention 74.4 as max TPL

2536 - 12 fps on the chrony

You can comfortably achieve the next node at 2648 - 12 fps on the chrony at +- 43.0 to 43.2 grains

Don't waste your time.
Go straight to 42.8 grains and work from there.

Sorry Dale can u please advise me if I use a tpl of 74mm would it make a difference on that load of 43.2gr?

It shouldn't make any difference but why would you want to change it.
