Choppie Roux Introduction.
Good Day All.
My Name is Choppie Roux.
I live in Kempton Park and enjoy Target shooting almost as much as Hunting, although i have a strict belief
that i will only shoot an animal if i am going to eat it.
I load my own rounds for my 308 win and my wife's 6.5 x 55, i get some decent groupings but are NO Pro.
I trust that i will learn and chat much.
Kind regards.

More P W V.
Wel, Ek het die 308 bo die 30 06 gekies omdat dit n militere caliber is, daarom glo ek dat daar meer navorsing en "Engineering" betroke was by die 308.
In my mind, the best military minds in the world can not all be wrong regarding curacy and reliability, - not that i wish to start the age old argument between the 2 calibers.
I chose the Wheatherby brand, as it has a proven record, and it is not such a Big brand as Saco, and the founder had to push through difficult times when all the well known manufacturers would not do barrel machining for him and tried to force him out of the market plus the fact that sun MOA curacy is guarantied.
I did my homework and found that the Wheatherby rifles are test fired with 150gr Federal power shock ammunition, but had difficulty getting my hands on it, hence i started out using factory loaded 165gr SST's.
The Hornady round worked great, but it cost a fortune, so i started the walk with the re-loading process, and to date it costs more, taking into consideration all the equipment one needs and the bullets, cartridges, powder, scale and so on, i am sure that i do not have to elaborate any further.
I currently shoot Hornady 180gr interbond with 40.5gr S335 @ 72.5mm and get a 12mm group @ 100m, but that is not good enough, so i purchased Quick Loads last week and have no idea how it works exactly, but will attend a class at some point before i use any load other then the one i am currently using.
Further to the above, i have had my 308 completely glass bedded, trigger adjustment to break under 2 pound, removed my 3 - 9 x 40 and fitted a 6 -24 x 50 scope, as i am getting slightly older now, and had it hydro dipped in a maroon and black camouflage.
My aim is to get to a 5mm group consistently, but not sure if that is feasible.
My next purchase will be a 338, and if you wonder why?, because i need to want one.
Best regards.

30-06 net so goed soos .308.
270 baie goeie geweer
300 in al sy formate ook uitstekend
(grappie)

Welkom Choppie. Sien jy kry al klaar slegte raad hier met die 270 kommentaar. Sterkte met dit. Daai klomp sit om elke hoek en draai op die forum. FHM is reg oor die -06. Dis 'n millitere kaliber. Jy gaan die geniet hier.

Naand Mane.
Ben, - Ek is in Van Ribeeck Park, - Soutpansberg Dr,
Bees Breet, -Ek het probeer pics laai maar die goet will nie, - Looks like i am having difficulty with more then just Q.L
And for some of the guys:
30-06 net so goed soos .308.
270 baie goeie geweer
300 in al sy formate ook uitstekend.
We all are individuals and if we all agreed on a specific caliber, there would be only one caliber, one brand one bullet, one brand of rifle and one load around.
Ek dink ek is gelukig om deel van hierdie groep te wees, - "Much better then any group on F.B" en ek is op baie jag groupe.
Julle ouens het my voorwaar welkom laat voel.
Beste groete, - moet nou prys uit deeling to of ek's in die sop.
