Probleemdier Permit

Manne,
Verlede jaar kry ek my permit vir probleemdier beheer, en die papier se dat dit vir die hele Oos Kaap is. Weet dat dit toe verander is na verskillede areas. Permitte word nou amper in munisipale areas ingedeel, in ander woorde, jy het n permit noding vir elke area wat jy jag.
Doen toe aansoek vir die twee areas waar ek skiet. Eerste een kry ek binne n uur. Grahamstad area word ek vertel dat hulle nie permitte uitgee vir die Grahamstad area nie, maar sal slegs n maand permit uitgee vir n spesifieke plaas. Die boer moet ook bewys dat hy probleme het met verlies, en n brief skryf aan hulle.
Die man agter die storie is n gans van n ander dam, en ons het in die verlede nog net probleme met hom gehad wanneer dit kom by permitte gee vir Tops diere, ens.
Het nou in kontak gekom met die Hoof van die area, en hom aangemeld. Ek, en die boere van die area is nou gatvol vir hierdie jakkals. Hoor hulle het net so groot stryery met hom gehad by een van die PHASA byeenkomste. Sy redinasie was dat die poachers agter die jakkals/rooikat permitte wegkruip en so die diere in die aand stroop.

Het julle al van so iets gehoor? Sal maar kyk waar die storie heen gaan, maar hoop maar sy draadjie word nou geknip.

Lyk my die betrokke amptenaar maak sommer sy eie reels. Dis goed julle het dit  na hoer gesag geneem.

Ek is laat weet dat alles van die amptenaar in lyn is, en dat elke kantoor basies sy eie reels kan maak. Daar is in die email vir my gese dat ek moet n klompie plase moet probeer vastel , waar ek glo daar probleme gaan wees. Ek het terug geskryf dat ek vir die jakkalse en rooikatte n memo gestuur het om vir my te laat weet op watter plaas hulle gaan vang.

Hoe neem ek hierdie storie verder, en met wie? Of vergeet ek maar van die papierwerk. ...

Sien asb die email en onder dit my email terug aan hulle. Ek vra dat julle manne asb vir my fotos stuur van verminkte diere. Lewendig en dood. Is nie seker of ek dit net van die website kan afhaal nie.

I trust your sarcasm is in response to the ?Goose? tag.
It was not intentional.

The challenge we sit with is that people have been manipulating the system.
This has resulted in poaching and it has been happening all over the province.
The problem was raised and the resolution was taken to address the short coming at a Provincial level.

My suggestion on clusters was a way of securing an economic edge over other PHs as you would be called in first when a problem arises from the cluster (s). To my mind it makes business sense to secure adjoining farms as clients.

My basic understanding of these problem animals is that they have ranges and these ranges are defended.
From tracks and scats one would be able to determine their movements and densities 

The higher powers have been copied in on this email and I trust that should you require any other contacts you will request these as well.
Again I want to state the official is complying and effecting a resolution

The sarcasm was exactly how it was intended and in response to a solution typical from people who have no idea of the situation at hand. The problem animals is not a farm problem but a problem that affects the entire country and entire areas. What you are doing is generalising by claiming that all problem animal controllers hide behind their permits in order to illegally hunt game at night. If I wanted to poach, I would do it any time of the year. Hunting is my job. Instead, you choose to punish the guys who understand the problem and trying to help out guys who lose in the order of R500K a year on predators.
So,  what you are telling me is that you expect me to, during my international hunting season, find the time to gather over 50 letters from the farmers in the area, with their proof of their losses in order to take care of a rogue cat that is killing their livestock?
Each farm in the area, has its own dominant pair, who will travel many km?s at night to kill. A jackal will kill the easiest pray, so will leave game reserves , in order to get to lambs a couple of km?s away. We have shot Jackal, who were drenched in sweat from the distance it had travelled to get to the caller. (...and you want us to pick this up from scats?)

Please expect some photos of the animals that has been killed by predators, and eaten and then found still alive the next morning with their stomachs hanging out. Maybe then you will realise what damage your flawed system is causing, since we are unable to respond to these cases, because we were not issued a memo by the animals telling us where they were going to strike next.
This issue will be forwarded to powers who understand the situation. This is not a threat Jeff, but next time you are eating your R115per/kg lamb chop, realise that you could have gotten it for R60/kg , had the farmer not lost the R500K for the year due to Jackal and Caracal.
