Ek het 100 plante teen R10 elk gekoop om te toets , 99 het gevrek nog voor hulle 5 cm was en ek kry geen hulp van die verspreider nie. Not a happy camper

Manne my siening is die goed moet werk.
Hoekom koop ek net saad vra almal my en hoekom nie boompies nie.
Die saailinge staan heeldag in n hothouse. Oomblik wat hy son sien is dit verby vir hom.
Plant hom in n sak vol sand van die omgewing en sit hom in direkte son laat hy groei.
Ekt 15 sterk boompies en gan as die somer kom nog so 50 try plant.
Die saad soek sonlig, hy ontkiem nie onder 20grade nie. So winter plant is nie n opsie nie.

Wat is julle manne bereid om vir boom lucern boome te betaal ek het my grond verkoop en gaan van my boome ontslae raak. Hulle is so 1.8m hoog die ander is 1/2m hoog daar omtrent 2000 boome?

Ek het 22 boompies in Bultfontein gekoop laas jaar September om die goed 'n kans te gee. Ek het 10 uit geplant wat al mooi groot was. Het hulle gereeld nat gegooi as ek op die plaas gekom het, 3 is oor. die laaste 12 het 9 oorleef in die sakkies en hulle sommer in die tuin uitgeplant vir eers. Sal die naweek weer gaan kyk hoe gaan dit met hulle nadat hulle nou so bietjie Oos Vrystaat ryp gekry het. Sal julle laat weet. Dit lyk vir my dat hulle nie so gehard is soos al die manne gese het nie.

This is the biggest bunch of rubbish to be marketed in South Africa and through good marketing and a large uninformed general public they sell....
I started 2 years ago with seeds - 5% germination
of the 5% germination 10% survived to 2 feet tall.
Replanted those into soil - extra care extra fert etc and they still die.
Bought 40 trees in 2012 - the bees variety I am left with 3 and they don't look like they are going to make the winter.
I have springbok, impala, Bushbuck and Nyala - they don't eat it...
Within 5 meters of the luscern trees I have Pork bush/spekboom (Porticula afra) and Cape Honey suckle (Tecomaria capensis) I have to protect these trees using wire otherwise they would be eaten to the roots.
Both are much easier plants to grow and can be planted using cuttings. Pork Bush has superb nutritional value as well as natural endo-parasite control properties.
Both plants require little or no water, no attention, are easy to grow, easy to find just about any nusery has them, they are as cheap as chips and are frost resistant.
Boom Luscern - Not sure if sheep and cattle eat it but for game it is a absolute lost cause..

What is great about these plants is they can be eaten till there is nothing left and they still grow back.. The cape honey Suckle is a great tree for attracting Sunbirds to your garden / or camps for that matter. I use wire to protect the plants when I feel they are taking a hammering - they need no attention just a bit of water now and then and unlike other plants they donot carry tannin - so no tannin poisoning
I use a green house to propergate my plants - even though I live in Thabazimbi I can turn out Porkbushes of that size in 3 month's from a single cutting.
Hope this helps others from making expensive mistakes.

Ek het vriende wat n met groente boer in groot maat en het toe begin om met die boompies te esperimenteer. Na n paar jaar van sukkel en swak resultate het hulle nou die resep gekry. Hier onder is boompies wat hulle gekweek het en uitgeplant het in een van hulle lande soos n heining.
Na minder as n jaar het hulle uitgeplante boompies so gelyk en het hulle omtrent n 90% suskses gehad.
Hulle het nou so 40 000 boompies wat so 30cm groot is en ek glo hulle sal goed werk na al hulle sukkel. Hulle het gese dat van die saad wat hulle gekoop het baie swakker was as ander en dat jy baie versigting moet wees met saad. Klein saailing boompies is ook maar baie pieperig en vrek vir niks. So van 30cm af begin hulle baie sterker wees.

Hi Rasmus, ja stuur gerus vir hom. Hulle boer in Talton area en huur n plaas hier naby my ook. Hulle kan met Ivan praat op o83 263o191. Ek het nou n paar boompies gekry om te sien wat maak hulle in hierdie koue wereld van ons.

Probleme met hulle gehad laas jaar met 500 bome wat gevrek het 'n week na gelewer en geplant is.
Voor die tyd baie beloftes gemaak oor na diens ens.
Snaaks ons beeste wil ook nie die lusernboom eet nie, in Januarie so 2 streepsakke snoeisels vir hulle uitgegooi en hulle het geruik en bly wei. Volgens almal wat dit verkoop sal dit dadelik gevreet word, maar lyk my die gras was beter. Het later waaiersterte gesien dit eet. So ons wonder ook nou of beeste dit sal vat....
Sterkte vir die manne hoop julle kry iets wat werk ons soek nogsteeds.
