308 suppressor

Post by RyC »

My new 308 license got approved on Wednesday. Picking it up tomorrow, very excited.

I was at Safari Outdoor today and looked at the ATec H3. Must admit I was impressed.

Not only modular but you can also fit a compensator module to cut more recoil.

Now previously I looked at the Gunwarrior Silencer. One can also fit a compensator and / or tuner to the silencer.

Biggest difference between the two is the price.

Is the ATec really worth double the price?

Dont know the Atec at all, but at double the price, it surely cant be double better than the warrior. My opinion, just get the warrior and move on with life.

I have 2 of the ATec Optima50 suppressors and they are very, very quiet!
I also fitted a H3 for a customer last week. Great looking, and also very quiet!
Goed, beter, 6millimeter!

I gave Gunwarrior a call this morning to discuss options. Very knowledgeable and I have some options open to me to explore dependent on my requirements. No decision made yet and will discuss with them further.

Having read through a couple of threads here no one seems to have had a bad experience with them. This info, more available options (shorty, medium, large), price and supporting local has made up my mind.

Taking the rifle in to them tomorrow. Based on what they say it's a same day service and they are only a 10 min drive from my office. All wins as I have a hunt planned at the end of the month.

Time is very short as I still need to properly sight the rifle in (Howa break in process was done in December), find a round it likes and put more rounds downrange.

Got my rifle back yesterday from GWarrior. Very impressed with the work done. Fitted a medium reflex suppressor with a 90 degree brake.

We checked the balance with the suppressor fitted and it is perfect. Balance point is right where I would place my support hand and / or put the rifle on a rest. Glad they guided me to the medium suppressor and not the large as it would have impacted weight distribution as well as scope sight picture (never even thought about the suppressor being in the way if you run lower scope rings).
