Every year we used to go to Mazeppa to fish during the winter months, we knew one of the residents with a house overlooking the bay. The hotel owner and the residents never got on, if you didn't stay in the hotel you were not allowed into the pub for a pub lunch and drink or any other activity. Hotel owner claimed the local residents were taking his rightful business.

Such a pity, but expected.

I’ve had a similar experience with a restrictive hotel policy in the past, and it kind of dampened the vibe of the trip for us too. Sometimes, these conflicts between locals and hotel owners can really affect how welcoming a place feels. It's frustrating when a place you love visiting ends up feeling off-limits or exclusive over such issues.

On a brighter note, I’ve also stayed at places like Westgate Resorts, where their focus on guest experience and diverse activities made the trips so much more enjoyable. They have vacation options across popular destinations, and it's easy to browse packages that suit different needs.
