270 Musgrave

Hi
I will be grateful for some info on the history of this Model 80 Musgrave. Possible Year of manufacture etc.
What I know is that it has a 24" barrel with 1:10 twist.
Notice unique checkering.
Serial number also not familiar to me being MXXX-XXX. x's are all numbers.
