I would have chosen option 1 if I had not starting building one yet due to lack of availability.

CZ would be an excellent option

I hope there are a lot of interest in the .404 Jeff since it may compel brass manufactures to start turning out .404 brass so it will be much more available in quantities at lower prices. I can not phantom why the brass needs to be so expensive while there are new technology to turn out this type of brass at large affordable quantities at this stage of the manufacturing game. It surely is not that more difficult to manufacturing a .308 brass than a .404 brass????

My guess is the manufacturers keep the availability of this type of brass low so they can make more money out of these items. Even the retailers enjoy the same tactics. They can ask what they will since you have already a big caliber like a .404 Jeff you usually will pay exorbitant prices just to be able to shoot these rifles....I know I am opening myself to be criticize, but that is the way I see it.....feel free to differ from me...

Vraag en aanbod oom Gert. Vir elke 404Jeff dop wat leeggeskiet word is daar 100 000 (of selfs baie meer!!) 308 dope wat geskiet raak...

Dis nie lonend om n produksielyn te staak en op te stel vir n produk wat so klein aanvraag het nie.

CZ bou spuls gewere in die groter kalibers, nog nie van een klient, vriend of kollega wat met een skoot gesukkel het met syne nie...

The reason I'm raising this question is because it will result in a good quality rifle, but just in a more affordable style.
The .404 Jeffrey is only offered by CZ in the "express" style and those are selling for R40 000.00 plus
Should CZ make the .404 in the "Safari Magnum" it will probably cost around R20 000.00

I bought a .458 Lott in the Safari Magnum (the Amrican version with the straight comb stock).

I then spent a bit of money on it by sanding of the lacquer finish and redoing it with an oil finish. Then added a grip cap, barrel band, bolt jewelling, black front end tip, etc.

I got close to the look of the Safari Classic for less cost. I asked a similar question on the forum, some time ago, whether the safari classic is worth the money? I think you are going to look far and wide for a safari classic under R45k.

No I do not have any influence.
The other night I was on their website, and I thought why do I not e-mail them and ask them why they do not make the Jeffrey in their Safari Magnum model.
Just as I've completed the mail (and before sending it), It struck me why do I not run a poll here and see if there is really as much interest in the .404 as I was claiming in my mail.

It is my intention to send CZ this link to appeal to them to make the .404 Jeffrey in their Safari Magnum.

I guess one can only try..........

ZKK, it is worth it for trying to get those guys to build a more affordable .404 Jeffery, I have the same quarry regarding more affordable .404 brass, there are more than enough .404 Jeffery rifles in the world to supply brass too.

N cz 404 sou darm mooi wees

Ek djnk die 404 is die toonbeeld van die klassieke Afrika geweer.
Die 416 is maar net deesdae so gewild omdat dit so n besonderse mooi patroon het.
Daar was seker nie n gamedepartment in Afrika wat dit nie gebruik het nie... en nou praat ek van die klassieke Afrika wat betref grootwild jag.
Die 416 het bietjie meer krag, maar die 404 het oorgenoeg en sy recoil is ook beter.
