increase in jackal population

Hi everyone

I was just wondering if you guys feel that there is an increase in the jackal population this year & if you guys are shooting a lot more females than normal.
8 of the 11 jackals that I have shot in the last 2 months were females.
There has also been a a lot more brown hyena activity than normal.

At least that is the feeling that we are getting here in the NW province.

Driving from Pretoria to Thabazimbi and Dwaalboom last weekend I saw at least 4 jackal that has been killed by traffic.

Driving down from Pretoria to Durban today I saw 3 that was killed on the N3...

Maybe they are moving a lot.
