Federal vs CCI

Can someone tell me what the difference(s) between the two.
I hear that the Federals are more powerful.... Why

The word is that in the magnum primer class the federal has the higher heat release to start slow burning powders.

Does this increase the muzzle velocity?
If so .... Would anyone Hazard a guess as to what the average increase in FPS.

Yes, I suppose so. If all the powder is burning, pressure would increase, driving the bullet faster. If some of the powder is not burning, this is at least not efficient.

No, I would rather not guess. One way of finding out for a specific rifle & ammo combination: Load the ammo exactly the same, except for different primers. Shoot through Chrony and compare velocity readings.
